Project Overview

The sugar industry is rapidly embracing geospatial technology for stockpiling inventory. This technology is quick and cost effective for volumetric analysis which reduces unnecessary climbing of stockpiles by the valuers. Today, Dangote Sugar is a leading brand that has made a remarkable impact on the Nigerian sugar sector. The refining facility at Apapa is the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa, with 1.44MT per annum installed capacity. Hence there is a need for cutting edge technology in Dangote Sugar Refinery which will help in cost and business optimization, health and safety (HSE).

Scope of Work:

The scope of work is to carry out a volumetric and weight analysis of raw sugar stockpiles at Dangote Refinery warehouse in Apapa.

Project Objectives

The project objectives could be as follows:

  • To conduct a reconnaissance survey of the warehouse and the immediate environment.
  • To establish a ground control point (GCP).
  • To carry out an laser and aerial survey of the stockpiles.
  • To process the process the dataset.
  • To carry out the volumetric and weight analysis and reporting
