Job Summary

The IT Officer will be responsible for the effective operation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure. This role supports users across the organization, ensures system reliability, and provides technical solutions that enable efficient business operations.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems, networks, printers, and related hardware.
  • Provide first- and second-level technical support to staff, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions across systems and applications.
  • Monitor IT systems performance and ensure data security, backups, and recovery procedures are in place.
  • Maintain and update organizational software, licenses, and IT asset inventory.
  • Support network administration, including LAN/WAN, internet connectivity, and basic server management.
  • Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with procurement, setup, and deployment of new IT equipment and systems.
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers for IT-related services.
  • Support IT-related projects and system upgrades as required.

 

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years’ proven experience in an IT support or systems administration role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and common business software.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, cybersecurity basics, and data protection.
  • Experience with cloud-based tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) is an advantage.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) are an added advantage.
