Project Details

  1. Provides advice on Geographic Information System (GIS) and System administration of the SPIU;
  2. Support the establishment/strengthening of GIS unit in the SPIU;
  3. Work closely with the respective GIS/MIS/M&E officers at state level and guide them in the optimum and efficient design;
  4. Support the establishment and operationalization of NiRTIMS and CoSMoS and its management and other related software;
  5. Assist SPIU and act as an agent to introduce some technological innovations including the establishment of Nigeria Rural Transport Infrastructure Management System (NiRTIMS) and Construction Site Monitoring System (CoSMoS);
  6. Perform as a core group member/trainer of SPIU for NiRTIMS & CoSMoS; provide training, guidance and supervise SPIU’s core group in the preparation of road inventory plan, inventory survey, review data, data entry and operationalization of NiRTIMS & CoSMoS;
  7. Prepares technical specification for the procurement of necessary GIS hardware and Software applications;
  8. Provide GIS support services and technical assistance;
  9. Serve as the GIS Liaising officer at the SPIU;
  10. Recommend relevant training activities for the GIS relevant personnel at SPIU;
  11. Undertake user requirements specification for the GIS/data management system;
  12. Define data and metadata standards for the project;
  13. Design and implement a suitable and scalable GIS data repository platform. Act as data custodian to manage data   repository.   On-going update, maintenance and   management   of   data   repository throughout the project;
  14. Support SPIU where required in undertaking GIS analyses to support the hydrological and hydraulic modelling for river crossing and other drainage structures as well as Road Network Inventory System (RNIS);
  15. Responsible for unified map generation from technical studies/modelling using data collected from RAAMP participating states;
  16. Coordinate GIS based training of SPIU and FPMU project staff;
  17. In collaboration with the Infrastructure Engineers, M&E and MIS officer create an interactive and safe method of data utilization, storage and sharing;
  18. In collaboration with the ICT officer, the GIS expert shall participate in identifying, managing, and updating of GIS based software license.
  19. Any other relevant duty or task as requested by the management.
